The Individual Support Program is a day habilitation program which serves adults with disabilities. It encourages individuals to achieve optimal physical, emotional, sensory, and intellectual functioning, with emphasis on independence. The staff work together as a team to ensure clients are treated with the upmost dignity and respect.
Clients in the Individual Support Program are encouraged to make choices on activities they want to participate in, including community inclusion activities. Such community inclusion activities could include outings to the area parks, YMCA, shopping trips, and volunteer activities, just to name a few. Some volunteer activities include recycling, decorating a local bank bulletin board, delivering baskets to and cleaning the Ronald McDonald House, volunteering at a local school, and having bake sales to raise money for local or non-local charities, among many others. The Individual Support Program also assists clients with physical therapy needs, behavioral support, exercise activities, and hygiene tasks. Some of our clients at the Individual Support Program receive massages from a local massage therapist on a regular basis.
The program’s overall goal is to provide individual support to enable clients with disabilities to reach their maximum level of independence through person-centered services with a team of staff who understand that client care is of upmost importance. Empowering individuals to make informed choices and in turn experience natural consequences encourages growth and development. All individuals served are actively involved in all aspects of their daily living and program planning at the Individual Support Program.
